Dae Jung-sang, Dae Jo-yeong's father is introduced as a general. The drama begins during a war between Tang and Goguryeo before Dae Jo-yeong is born. Dae Joyeong is a historical korean drama aired on KBS1 (transliterated as Dae Jo-young in the English release) about the life of Dae Jo-yeong, the founder of the kingdom of Balhae.
